What is bamboo composite and what is it made of?

Our bamboo composite products are made from a blend of bamboo powder and 100% recycled plastic, processed using co-extrusion technology. The result is a durable, low-maintenance material that combines the natural look of bamboo with the performance of engineered composites.

What products do you offer in bamboo composite?

We offer bamboo composite decking, cladding, fluted and slatted wall panels, and indoor flooring. Each product is available in multiple profiles and colours.

How long does bamboo composite last?

Our bamboo composite products are designed to last more than 10 years. In practice you'll find that they often last 25 years or more with minimal maintenance. They are resistant to moisture, UV radiation, termites and rot.

Is bamboo composite suitable for outdoor use in Kenya and South Africa?

products are specifically designed for tropical and subtropical climates. They withstand high UV exposure, heavy rain, humidity and temperature fluctuations, making them ideal for Kenya and South Africa.

Is bamboo composite suitable for pool areas?

Yes. Our decking and cladding profiles are moisture-resistant and non-slip, making them well suited for pool decks, terraces and other wet areas.

What colours and finishes are available?

Our composite products are available in multiple colour options including natural wood tones and darker finishes. Surface options include grooved, smooth and fluted textures depending on the profile.

How do I maintain bamboo composite products?

Bamboo composite requires very little maintenance. Regular cleaning with water and a soft brush is sufficient. No painting, sealing or treating is required.

Can I get samples before ordering?

Yes. Contact us to request samples of our composite profiles. We can send samples to Kenya, South Africa and internationally.

What is the lead time for composite products?

Standard lead time from our Nairobi facility is approximately one week for in-stock profiles. Custom orders may require additional time.

Where do you supply bamboo composite products?

We supply bamboo composite decking, cladding and wall panels to clients in Kenya, South Africa and the Netherlands. For other destinations, contact us to discuss options, we are open to working with distributors and project buyers internationally.

Raw Bamboo Materials

raw-materials

What raw bamboo materials do you supply?

We supply bamboo chips, bamboo powder, bamboo slats and bamboo poles. These are used as industrial feedstock for composite manufacturing, bioplastics, pulp, bioenergy and other applications.

What are bamboo chips used for?

Bamboo chips are used for fiber extraction, pulping, composite reinforcement, activated carbon production and biomass energy. They are supplied in bulk with controlled moisture content and consistent particle size.

What are bamboo slats used for?

Bamboo slats are used for mechanical fiber extraction, veneer and laminate production, engineered bamboo components and furniture manufacturing.

What are the benefits of bamboo powder in manufacturing?

Bamboo powder is used as a natural filler in bioplastics, molding compounds, rubber reinforcement and cosmetics. Its fine particle size and high fiber content make it an effective replacement for mineral fillers.

Do you export raw bamboo materials internationally?

Yes. We export to Europe, the United States, Africa and other international markets. All shipments include export documentation and quality checks.

Can you provide technical data or samples?

Yes. We provide material specifications, moisture and density data, particle size distribution and samples for R&D and prototyping. Contact us to request material data sheets.

Do you provide quality documentation?

Yes. Batch documentation and Certificates of Analysis (COA) are available on request for all raw material shipments.

Can bamboo raw materials replace glass fiber or mineral fillers?

In many applications, yes. Bamboo can replace or complement traditional reinforcements in automotive interior panels, marine components and molding compounds. Key advantages are lower weight, lower CO₂ footprint and better circularity.

Can you support product development or industrial trials?

Yes. We collaborate with composite manufacturers, R&D labs and material scientists. We can support material selection, sample delivery, processing advice and joint testing phases.

Treated Bamboo Poles

bamboo-poles

What bamboo pole species do you supply?

We supply Dendrocalamus Asper, Dendrocalamus Giganteus, Bambusa Vulgaris and Oldeania Alpina poles, all harvested from Kenyan farmers and professionally treated.

Are the poles treated?

Yes. All our poles are treated with eco-safe preservatives to resist termites, fungi, moisture and decay. This significantly extends their lifespan for outdoor use.

What are bamboo poles used for?

Our treated poles are used for construction, fencing, pergolas, shade structures, landscaping, interior design and event decor.

What lengths and diameters are available?

We supply poles in lengths of 2M, 2.5M and 4M and diameters ranging from 20mm to 100mm and above. Custom sizing is available on request.

Can I order poles in bulk?

Yes. We supply poles in bulk to contractors, builders and distributors across Kenya. Contact us for bulk pricing and availability.

Are your poles available for pickup in Nairobi?

Yes. Poles can be collected from our facility in Sigona, Rungiri, Nairobi. Delivery within Kenya can be arranged for larger orders.

Bamboo Seedlings

seedlings

What bamboo seedling varieties do you offer?

We offer Dendrocalamus Asper, Dendrocalamus Giganteus, Bambusa Vulgaris and Bambusa Nana seedlings, all propagated in Kenyan nurseries and suited to local conditions.

Which species is best for bamboo farming and supply to We Do Bamboo?

Dendrocalamus Asper is our preferred species for long-term supply partnerships. It grows well in Kenya's highland and mid-elevation regions and produces high-quality culms for composite manufacturing and poles.

Are seedlings available for reforestation and NGO projects?

Yes. We supply seedlings for cultivation projects, reforestation programmes and community-based planting initiatives. Volumes and conditions are discussed on a project basis.

How do I order seedlings?

Seedlings are available via our online shop or by contacting us directly for larger project quantities. Pickup is available in Nairobi and delivery can be arranged.

When is the best time to plant bamboo in Kenya?

The best time to plant is at the start of the long rains, typically March to May. Planting during a rainy season gives seedlings the best conditions for early establishment.
