When we launched our bamboo registration campaign just a few months ago, we hoped for interest. What we got was momentum.
More than 100 farmers have already come forward to register their bamboo plantations with us. Collectively, they represent an estimated 80,000 mature bamboo poles ready for annual harvest. And that number is growing by the week.
This is more than just supply. This is a signal.
Across Kenya, bamboo farmers, many of whom planted years ago with no clear buyer in sight, are beginning to see the opportunity. Their patience is finally meeting a market. And it’s local.
Why It Matters
Kenya has long encouraged the planting of bamboo as a climate-smart cash crop. However, for too long, the missing piece has been demand. A market. A partner.
That’s what We Do Bamboo is here to change.
By connecting farmers to a guaranteed offtake and turning their bamboo into high-quality construction materials like decking, cladding, and wall panels, we’re proving that bamboo can pay back.
To the farmer. To the economy. To the planet.
The Impact of Bamboo Farming
Bamboo farming is not just about growing a plant. It’s about creating a sustainable future. When farmers cultivate bamboo, they contribute to reducing deforestation. Bamboo grows quickly and can be harvested without killing the plant. This means that we can meet our construction needs while preserving our forests.
Moreover, bamboo farming provides an income source for local communities. Farmers can earn a living while also contributing to environmental sustainability. This dual benefit is essential for the growth of our economy and the health of our planet.
What’s Next?
This is only the beginning. With our first production line launching soon, we’re laying the groundwork for a fully local bamboo value chain; from farm to factory to finished product.
And that means we’re still growing our network of bamboo farmers.

The Future of Bamboo in Construction
As we look ahead, the potential for bamboo in construction is immense. It is a versatile material that can be used in various applications, from residential homes to commercial buildings. Its strength and flexibility make it an ideal choice for sustainable architecture.
In addition, bamboo has a lower carbon footprint compared to traditional building materials like concrete and steel. By choosing bamboo, we are not only making a smart economic decision but also a responsible environmental one.
Join the Movement
We invite you to join us in this exciting journey. Whether you are a farmer, a builder, or simply someone who cares about the environment, there is a place for you in this movement. Together, we can create a sustainable future that benefits everyone.
Let’s work together to make bamboo the go-to material for construction in Kenya and beyond. The time for change is now.
In conclusion, the bamboo registration campaign has sparked a movement that is gaining momentum. With the support of local farmers and the community, we are on the path to transforming the construction industry. Let’s embrace this opportunity and build a sustainable future together.
