Light. Versatile. African.

Native to the African lowlands, Oxytenanthera abyssinica, commonly known as lowland bamboo, is one of the most widely distributed bamboo species across sub-Saharan Africa. Its semi-solid culm structure gives it a natural strength advantage over hollow bamboo of similar size, making it ideal for:

  • Garden stakes, bean poles, and agricultural support structures
  • Light fencing and boundary demarcation
  • Craft work, basket weaving, and furniture making
  • Eco-friendly crating, packaging, and rural construction
  • Agroforestry and erosion control applications

Locally sourced and sustainably harvested in Kenya, our lowland bamboo supports smallholder farmers and reflects our commitment to keeping Africa's bamboo resources in African hands.
