About Us
We Do Bamboo manufactures bamboo composite decking, cladding and wall panels from our factory near Nairobi. Our BPC production line runs continuously, extrusion, crushing, drying, mixing and cutting, and keeping that equipment running safely and reliably is critical to everything we do.
We are hiring an Electrical Technician to join our maintenance team and take ownership of the electrical systems across the production line.
The Role
You are the person the factory calls when something stops working. You diagnose fast, fix it right, and document what you did. You understand industrial electrical systems (motors, drives, control panels, sensors) and you have worked on production equipment before, not just buildings or domestic installations.
Experience in plastics processing, food manufacturing, timber, packaging or any continuous production environment is a strong advantage. We are not looking for someone who needs to learn what a PLC is on the job.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect, maintain and repair electrical systems across the BPC production line: motors, drives, control panels, wiring, fuses, sensors and switches
Diagnose and resolve electrical faults quickly to minimise production downtime
Execute and support scheduled preventive maintenance on all electrical equipment
Assist with installation and commissioning of new machinery
Follow lock-out/tag-out and all electrical safety procedures without exception
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and fault records
Support mechanical troubleshooting where electrical and mechanical systems interact
Work directly with machine operators and the Production Supervisor to coordinate repairs
What We're Looking For
Required:
Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience as an electrical technician in a manufacturing, processing or industrial facility
Proven ability to diagnose and repair electrical faults on production equipment independently
Solid working knowledge of motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), control panels and industrial wiring
Technical certificate or diploma in electrical engineering or a related field
Fluent in Kiswahili; basic English is an advantage
Willing to work shifts, including weekends when required
Strong advantage:
Experience in plastics extrusion, food processing, timber, packaging or similar continuous manufacturing environments
Familiarity with PLCs and basic automation systems
Mechanical competence alongside electrical skills
