Quantity

Materials vs Installation: What Is Actually Included?
A lot of cladding price confusion in Kenya comes down to suppliers quoting different things under the same “per m²” label. Before comparing quotations, check exactly what is included.
Material Only
This is simply the price of the stone, board or panel required to cover one square metre.
It excludes labour, fixings, substructure and preparation of the existing wall.
Material Plus Installation
Some contractors quote a complete installed price. With natural stone, this can include labour, adhesive and finishing. However, the exact scope varies, so it is important to check what the supplier has included.
Substructure
Panel-based systems such as bamboo composite cladding require a supporting frame fixed to the wall. At We Do Bamboo, our exterior cladding profiles are installed on a timber or aluminium subframe. This creates a ventilated cavity behind the boards and provides a secure fixing structure.
The required subframe depends on the wall, building height and application, so installation is quoted per project rather than included in a standard headline material price.

How to Estimate Your Wall Cladding Cost
A basic project estimate can be calculated in four steps.
1. Measure the Wall
Multiply the length by the height.
For example:
12 metres × 3 metres = 36 m²
Subtracting large doors or openings can make the estimate more accurate.
2. Calculate the Material Requirement
If you choose our Wide Overlap bamboo composite cladding at KSh 1,815 per m²:
36 m² × KSh 1,815 = KSh 65,340
That is the approximate material cost before installation and substructure.
3. Add Installation and Substructure
Installation depends on the wall and project. For bamboo composite, this includes the supporting subframe, fixings and labour. For stone, it typically includes labour, adhesive and finishing.
