Location: Sigona (Zambezi area),

Reports to: Factory Lead (FC Lead)

Schedule: Rotating shifts (morning, evening, night)

Employment: Full-time

About Us

We Do Bamboo is building one of East Africa’s first large-scale bamboo plastic composite manufacturing facilities. We produce durable, sustainable alternatives to traditional building materials including decking, cladding, wall panels and related construction products.

Our factory operates across multiple production stages including raw material crushing & milling, mixing & granulation, and extrusion & finishing. To support our growing operations, we are hiring strong, hands-on Shift Supervisors who can lead teams, maintain discipline, solve problems quickly, and keep production running smoothly across the entire factory floor.

About the Role

As Shift Supervisor, you are the operational lead during your shift across the entire factory. You oversee all active production stages, coordinate captains and operators, manage attendance and discipline, and ensure production targets are met safely and efficiently.

This is not a desk role. You are expected to be present on the floor, visible to the teams, and actively involved in the operation throughout the shift. You make decisions under pressure, respond quickly to operational issues, and maintain control when problems arise.

During your shift, you have full operational authority within the established production and safety standards. The Factory Lead trusts you to run the operation, while Operations Managers support you with technical standards, process improvements and escalation support when needed.

Our factory operates with rotating 8-hour shifts in a continuous production environment.

Shift structure:

  • Morning Shift: 06:00 – 14:00

  • Evening Shift: 14:00 – 22:00

  • Night Shift: 22:00 – 06:00

Supervisors are expected to arrive before the shift for preparation and stay after the shift for proper handover and reporting.

What You Will Do

Before the Shift

  • Run attendance checks and identify absent workers

  • Activate standby workers and reassign labor where necessary

  • Coordinate with captains to confirm staffing and production readiness

  • Brief teams on production targets, priorities and carry-over issues

  • Ensure critical production areas are properly staffed, especially bottleneck processes

During the Shift

  • Maintain a visible presence across the factory floor

  • Monitor output, workflow, quality and discipline across all active stages

  • Coordinate operators, captains and technicians during operational issues

  • Make fast operational decisions when problems occur

  • Decide whether production continues, pauses, reroutes or escalates

  • Respond quickly to breakdowns, attendance issues and bottlenecks

  • Hold captains accountable for team performance and discipline

  • Ensure production targets and safety standards are maintained

  • Coordinate with the technical team when machine issues require escalation

After the Shift

  • Conduct proper handover with the incoming supervisor

  • Communicate machine status, staffing issues and production performance

  • Complete the daily shift report

  • Flag strong and underperforming workers to Operations Managers

  • Report recurring operational or technical issues

  • Able to make decisions under pressure and handle operational disruptions calmly

  • Strong discipline and people management skills

  • Comfortable addressing attendance, lateness and performance issues directly

Strong Advantages

  • Experience in plastics, composites, extrusion, milling or industrial processing

  • Direct and clear in communication

  • Reliable and disciplined

  • Hands-on and practical

  • Comfortable taking ownership

  • Able to earn respect on the factory floor

  • Not afraid to make difficult operational decisions

Important Note

This is not a passive supervisor role. You will deal with machine breakdowns, attendance problems, production pressure and difficult operational decisions. We are looking for people who can stay calm, lead from the front, and keep the operation moving when challenges arise.

If you want a role where you can take ownership, build strong teams, and help run a serious manufacturing operation from the ground up, we’d like to hear from you.
